East Light Pavilion

A small garden pavilion designed as a space for reading and tea ceremony. The walls are weathering steel; the floor and bench, single slabs of basalt. The structure sits in the southwest corner of an existing residential plot, oriented to receive the first light of the morning through a single, wide-set opening. The brief: one room, one bench, one view.
